The City of South Padre Island announced the passing of former City Council Member Paul Munarriz. Munarriz, who served on the City Council from 2015 to 2018, was a dedicated public servant and a cherished member of the South Padre Island community.
During his tenure, Paul Munarriz made significant contributions to the city, including serving as Mayor Pro-Tem. His commitment to the well-being and progress of South Padre Island was evident in his tireless
work and thoughtful leadership.
Beyond his official duties, Paul was well-known as an avid fisherman, a passion he shared with many in the community he loved. He will be remembered for his dedication to public service and his love for the
outdoors.
“Paul Munarriz was a passionate advocate for South Padre Island, and his contributions to our community were invaluable,” said Patrick McNulty, mayor, “He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of
knowing him. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
