Richard Hitchcox, Founder and Managing Director of RGV Fishing Area and Waterway Cleanups, is calling on the community to join the next cleanup event scheduled for Saturday, October 25th, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event will focus on cleaning Laguna Madre Rookery Island and Thomae Park through a combined boat and land effort.

Volunteers and boat captains are especially needed to help restore these important local waterways and parks. The meeting point will be at the pavilion by the boat ramp in Adolph Thomae Jr. County Park. Boat captains interested in participating should contact Justin LeClaire at jleclaire@cbbep.org while other volunteers can reach out to Richard Hitchcox at 956-371-7146.

Participants can look forward to free raffles, giveaways, food, and fun as a thank you for their support. Community members and local businesses are encouraged to sponsor or volunteer for this important environmental effort.

For more information or to get involved, contact Richard Hitchcox today.
