Hundreds of revelers crowded Beulah Lee Park in Port Isabel last Friday night to share time as a community and mark the lighting of the Port Isabel Christmas Tree: a well-illuminated Washingtonian Palm.
Port Isabel City Manager Edward Meza made a few introductory remarks, thanking Port Isabel’s public works department for decorating the park and the town’s medians with colorful lighted holiday displays.
Mayor Joe E. Vega counted down as the PI Junior High Band and a high school saxophone quartet took a break from playing Christmas songs and the tree was lit.
