Understated and a little late, the 24th Annual Christmas Lighted Boat Parade was no less charming for it, and about a dozen spectacularly lit boats steamed by the old Point off Port Isabel at 7:35 pm.
Despite the later start than the advertised 6:00 p.m. weighing of anchors, the boats queued up at White Sands Restaurant and Marina and by 6:30 p.m. a flurry of fireworks signaled the commencement. Mariners who participated were graced Saturday night with fair winds and calm seas in a rather dark, moonless night. Nevertheless, clear skies provided nearly perfect weather, with temperatures in the 70s.
