Making the most of this unique coastal area in a responsible, conservative manner over the next five to 10 years is high on the list of priorities for at least some of the newly elected officials who will be governing the new City of Laguna Vista.
Voters gave the community their approval to advance from a general law town to a home rule city in Saturday’s election. Aldermen approved the election results Tuesday night.
A secondary vision for the City is that of a healthy mix of soft retail development to provide for the basic needs of local residents.
Just re-elected Mayor Susie Houston envisions more parks, green trails, bike paths and family outdoor areas in the City’s future.
