The South Padre Island City Commission met on Wednesday evening and came out of the room with heads held high as the building ordinances for the city are now seeing changes.
After a two-year long battle, Padre Blvd. and the entertainment district are expect to see some changes in building standards for new developments.
With the new ordinance applauded passing its first reading in the city meeting, the wheels are turning to give SPI a more people friendly layout, said Rick Vasquez, SPI transit and development director.
