The City of South Padre Island has initiated a new arm of their animal rescue efforts with the help of the Friends of the Isabel Y. Garcia Animal Shelter.
According to Jackie Conrad of the Friends, an animal now picked up by South Padre Island Code is taken to a State of Texas-approved impound facility on the Island.
