The 18th Annual World’s Championship Shrimp Cookoff, hosted by the Port Isabel Chamber of Commerce, is slated Sunday, Nov. 6. Gates open at 10 a.m.

Located in Las Palmas Shopping Center in front of Bealls Department Store on Highway 100, this culinary tradition is expected to be even bigger and better, as previously reported by the Parade.

For nearly 20 years, attendees have come to expect dozens of professional and amateur shrimp cooks will expertly prepare over one ton of fresh wild caught Gulf shrimp in a wide variety of ways, including boiled, coconut, cocktails, fried and scampi.

While munching on tasty shrimp, attendees can shop for jewelry, collectibles, art and more from the vendors set up on the grounds. There will be a mini-carnival for the kids, balloon animals, face painting and games.

Another World’s Championship Shrimp Cook-Off tradition, The Agency will be performing all day under the big tent.
