Bass Pro Shops grand opening ongoing this weekend

Bass Pro Shops, recently named as one of the “Top 10 Hottest Brands in America” by Advertising Age magazine, celebrates its 58th store’s grand opening Thursday, Nov. 17 through Sunday, Nov. 20.

The store opened at 8 a.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. (normal opening hours) Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday. The new Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World is located at the intersection of U.S. Expressways 83 and 77 and is the anchor for the new Cameron Crossing retail development.

The grand opening celebration will be preceded by a special Evening for Conservation event Wednesday, Nov. 16 that is free and open to the public. Area conservation groups partnering with Bass Pro Shops will set up display booths to educate customers on their efforts and projects with a portion of the night’s sales benefiting the National Fish Initiative’s “More Fish” campaign.

Grand opening festivities include special exhibits, store-wide savings and giveaways. One can visit with experts on fishing, hunting, camping, boating and more. See huge product selections from the industry’s top manufacturers and talk with factory representatives to get the latest information on new products.

The first 200 customers each day of the grand opening festivities will receive a coupon for a gift with purchase. Thursday, Nov. 17 and Saturday, Nov. 19, customers will get a Bass Pro Shops gift card in a special gift card holder, Friday, Nov. 18, the first 200 will receive a Bass Pro Shops Floating Sunglass retainer and Sunday, Nov. 20 they will receive a commemorative limited edition Bass Pro Shops cooler. Plus, one can register to win a $50, $100 or a $200 gift card to be given away at the end of the event.

Special displays through Sunday, Nov. 20 include the Bass Pro Shops #1 NASCAR Sprint Series car and the Bass Pro Shops #3 Truck Series truck.

Western Premium BBQ Products will be cooking complimentary meat products on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

While at the store, enjoy Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl and Grill – and experience bowling. This 15,000 square-foot nautical-themed entity, located within the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World store, features a unique atmosphere and design geared for family fun and dining. Casual family dining will be available in the grill where customers can select from a menu featuring a variety of appetizers, sandwiches, salads and burgers.

The store offers 145,000 square feet of outdoor excitement including the area’s largest selection of quality gear for fishing, hunting, camping, boating and marine. Much more than a hunting and fishing store, however, Bass Pro Shops also offers equipment for hiking, backpacking, outdoor cooking and more. Shoppers will find outdoor apparel for men, women and children, along with a fine selection of outdoor, casual and athletic footwear. A gift and nature center serves up a wide variety of outdoor-related items from lamps and dishes to bird feeders and furniture.

Known for bringing the outdoors indoors, a typical Bass Pro Shops retail store features over 3,500 area antiques and artifacts, up to 400 trophy fish and wildlife mounts and many grand murals depicting scenes reminiscent of the area making it a true destination experience.
