Gospel concert, fundraiser slated for children’s home

Sunny Glen Children's HomeA gospel concert is scheduled at Sunny Glen Children’s Home in San Benito on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 6 p.m.

The concert will be held at the Marine Military Academy auditorium, located on Loop 499 near Valley International Airport in Harlingen.

Donations benefiting the home will be accepted at the event, where Oklahoma City-based ALL4Him will be performing along with other entertainers.

The event is free and open to the public.

Also occurring at the event is a check presentation on behalf of Andrew Krupala of Harlingen, who was recently selected as a winner in America’s Farmers Grow Communities, an organization that gives farmers the opportunity to donate $2,500 to their favorite local nonprofit organizations.

Krupala chose to contribute the funds, which are available through the Monsanto Fund, to Sunny Glen.

At the event, Krupala and a Monsanto representative present the check to Sunny Glen staff.

“In 1,245 eligible counties in 39 states, farmers could win $2,500 for their favorite community nonprofit,” read a press release issued by America’s Farmers Grow Communities. “The Monsanto Fund expects to invest more than $3.1 million in local communities.”
