waterIf you’ve noticed the snake-like water apparatus in the bay, south of the Queen Isabella Causeway, you’re not alone.

According to Chip Worley, Area Engineer with the Army Corp of Engineers, the dredge arrived on Jan. 28 and “the objective is to clear that channel and make it wide enough for navigation.”

Worley said, “This project went through an initial study in 2009, and then a cost/benefit analysis. The federal funds were appropriated through Congress from the Civil Works New Work Fund, and the project is expected to be complete within the next two weeks.”
