The cold-wet weather did little to sway an enthusiastically sizeable group from attending the book signing of author Dave Cromwell’s, “Allison: The mostly true story of a one-flippered sea turtle” on Monday afternoon at Paragraphs Bookstore, 5505 Padre Blvd., South Padre Island.
The author, at first glance, was comfortable in conversation with attendees, and the setting was intimate and inviting, yet as Cromwell described, “This is my first real book signing – very scary to me – the first 10 to 15 books I signed, I almost felt like throwing up!”
As Cromwell humorously continued on to explain, he was referring to his writing hand, which was “shaking like a leaf” as he questioned his own ability to sign his name. “The book was written for kids from fifth grade to high school, and they will find many things that are interesting,” said Cromwell. “It also has many subjects to include magic, culture, legend and non-fiction.”
