gavelBrownsville-based attorney Ricardo Morado, a partner in the Roerig, Oliveira, Fisher Law Firm, was appointed to serve as interim attorney by Laguna Vista officials on Monday.

The action comes after concerns were raised by officials during successive town meeting that their current attorney was not available to answer questions about legal issues, specifically the Town Charter that was adopted by voters last May, but not yet approved for implementation by the US Department of Justice.

Morado is currently serving as legal counsel for the City of San Benito and the San Benito Public Housing Authority, where he resides, and is a newly seated member of the Cameron Appraisal Review Board.
