Representatives of the Town of Laguna Vista met at the South Padre Island Golf Club with the Chinese businessmen. The visit is a result of a visit to China last month by San Benito Mayor Joe Hernandez and City Manager Manuel Lara who attended an International Mayor’s Conference in Shenzhen, China. While on the trip, they met the president of a furniture manufacturing company and extended an invitation to them to travel to San Benito and Cameron County to learn of potential economic development opportunities.
