According to reports, the remains – which may have been skeletal – were recovered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). CBP reportedly notified the U.S. Coast Guard of the find.
The PRESS was advised that if any investigation was to be launched it would be headed by the Cameron County Sheriff’s Department.
