PRESS Staff Report
The Mexican consulate is close to identifying remains found over the weekend in the Port Isabel area between Long Island Village and Southpoint Marina.
Officials believe the skeletal remains were exposed to the elements for at least three months.
Officials are now working to identify the person, but say the consulate’s investigation is leading them to a missing person’s report filed by a family in Tamaulipas, Mexico.
