The Brownsville Port Director met with South Padre Island leaders for Coffee and Conversation at Café Kranzler last Thursday.
Eduardo A. Campirano discussed projects at the Port of Brownsville that would have an economic impact on the island.
2011 was the most successful year for the port, Campirano said, with a reported profit of $4.1 million.
Campirano said 20 acres of land at the port are dedicated to windmill components that are to be distributed through out the area.
