City takes serious look at hurricanes

The Port Isabel City Commission hosted a Hurricane Awareness Meeting Tuesday with local business representatives and a meteorologist from the National Weather Service.

Barry Goldsmith, Warning Coordination Meteorologist, said the there is lots of uncertainty on how active this season will be.

“It only takes one to make your season,” Goldsmith said.

By June 1 a plan should be reviewed and revised, Goldsmith said, it is important knowing whether you will leave or stay for a storm.
