Council talks lifeguards, windstorm

The South Padre Island City Council met for a regular meeting Wednesday.

A representative from Allied Waste presented to the council a plan regarding mandatory recycling. He said their facility in La Feria will add a sorting operation to accept mixed collections instead of adding recycling bins to their routes.

Steve Atkins from The Atkins Group presented to the council marketing strategies for fulfillment. He said they are utilizing spongecell advertisements that appear to targeted user profiles ranging from travel websites to weather websites.
