A public hearing regarding the proposed second causeway is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the South Padre Island Convention Centre. An open house is planned for 5:30 p.m. the same day.
Cameron County Regional Mobility Authority Executive Director Pete Sepulveda said he hopes the public will turn out “so that their input will help us evaluate every applicable detail.”
“We will thoroughly discuss the recommended preferred alternative (the bridge), which was put forth after intense evaluation of 12 different recommended preferred alternatives,” Sepulveda said in a statement.
