Special to the PRESS
The 2012 Port Isabel Tarpon football season began Monday with two-a-day practices.
Varsity and sub-varsity Tarpons hit the field from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in preparation for another much-anticipated football season.
All incoming ninth and 11th graders were required to have physical on file by August 6, and all high school students from grades 9-12 were required to have their paperwork on file before they could begin practice.
“No one will practice with incomplete paperwork,” read a news release issued by the Point Isabel ISD Athletic Department.
Football equipment was also issued Monday. Also, all Tarpon football players will receive a letter in the mail from the Tarpon Athletic Department detailing practice times, a weight room workout schedule and other relevant information.
