Seven participants of the Ladies Kingfish Tournament have been accused of felony fraud, charges which stem from their participation in the competition.
Five of the participants were arraigned Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Municipal Court in Port Isabel. The other two will be arraigned by Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2 Judge George Solis.
The Parks and Wildlife Department alleges that the participants cheated in bay divisions composed of Redfish, Trout and Flounder and won cash prizes as well as a boat valued at $18,000.
