The Port Isabel Tarpons made the long road trip to Rio Grande City for a rare Thursday night game last week.
A late touchdown broke a 7-7 tie and the Tarpons left town with a 13-7 win over the Grulla Gators.
The victory came the week after 81 points were scored in Port Isabel’s 51-30 win over Brownsville St. Joseph. Eleven touchdowns were scored in that one and the lead changed hands nine times. This time only three TD’s were scored and there were just two lead changes, the last of which went in favor of the Tarpons.
