A 53-year-old Port Isabel man was arrested on November 13 and charged with allegedly having child pornography on his personal computer and laptop.

Court records released on Wednesday state that FBI agents raided Billy Joe Jeffers’ Port Isabel residence at the Isla Vista Apartments and allegedly discovered pornographic material containing children in his possession. Investigators found 11 images and six videos on Jeffers’ desktop computer in addition to 13 images and four videos on his laptop.

Port Isabel Chief of Police Gualberto Gonzalez said the FBI received assistance from at least one PIPD officer. Gonzalez said, “It’s an FBI investigation. Our AOA (Assist Other Agency) officer has not filed a report.”

Gonzalez continued, saying, “An ambulance was called to transport a lady who was removed from the home because she was having a seizure or something.” No word on the woman’s name or condition has been released at this time.

Jeffers appeared before Cameron County Magistrate Court Judge Luis Saenz on Wednesday, where his bond was set at $75,000.

Special Agent Erik Vasys of the Federal Bureau of Investigation said, “For public interest, I can confirm that we were at that location conducting a regular and usual criminal investigative activity, but I can’t divulge any details.”
