It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the Laguna Madre area as local municipalities continue hosting holiday festivities.
On South Padre Island, the Christmas parade had 44 entries from all around the county. The event was a part of the 12-plus Days of Christmas organized by the Parks Beautification and Recreation Committee.
The 12 days included over 30 events all over the Island, capping off with Caroling in the Snow at Padre Rita Grill located 4001 Padre Boulevard.
Santa Claus made his way through Port Isabel with City Manager Ed Meza and Commissioners Memo Torres and M.J. Garza. They were judges for Christmas light decorations in the city of Port Isabel.
Twenty homes were honored with a gift bag and Santa door decoration for their efforts.
The Port Isabel Police and Fire Department will be issuing toys that were collected for the children that were registered at the fire house Friday.
