“America’s Beloved Tenor” Daniel Rodriguez and international soprano sensation Marla Kavanaugh will perform an exhilarating program of vocal works at The Christian Fellowship Church located at 901 N. Loop 499, in Harlingen at 7:30 p.m. Friday, February 22.
A New York police officer, Rodriguez’ stirring a cappella renditions of “God Bless America” and the National Anthem introduced him to an international stage. Rodriguez’ touring has brought a myriad of experiences, including the 2002 Winter Olympics, a PBS Memorial Day Concert, regional opera, and numerous television appearances and meeting his bride, New Zealand soprano Marla Kavanaugh.
Kavanaugh is an established opera performer and recitalist, with credits including a performance with Plácido Domingo and the Los Angeles Opera. The couple now concertize together performing a diverse musical program encompassing musical styles from opera to popular song.
