The Port Isabel City Commission held a regular city meeting Tuesday, where, among the order of business, the commission approved Resolution 02-26-2013-01 to endorse the creation of the New Institution to serve the lower Rio Grande Valley by consolidating UTPA, UTB and Transformed Regional Academic Health Center.
Resolution 02-26-2013-02 expressing concern and objection to the City of Brownsville’s strip annexations was approved by the commission.
Two bank accounts were approved by the commission. Resolution 02-26-2013-03 and 02-26-2013-04 created bank the accounts for the IRP USDA Revolving Loan Program to drawdown and another for payment.
The commission approved the purchase of a vehicle for use by the city. The vehicle seats six people and will be used for official business. The cost of the vehicle is $22,388.
