South Padre Parade
Blanca White’s is this week’s stop on the Beach Bar Beat. It is located at 202 W. Whiting on South Padre Island.
Blanca White’s offers a list of over 20 specialty drinks highlighted by the World Famous Blanca White’s Margarita that is best served while overlooking the view of the South Padre sunset.
This week’s bartender fills us in on the Blanca White’s philosophy.
Specialty drink: I like to make the house margarita. Everyone is satisfied after that drink, so I know they are good.
Bartending experience: I have been on and off for about three years.
What is your favorite failed pick-up line: I have been working here for over a month and I would have to say, “Hey there, what are you drinking?” usually doesn’t work.
Why come to Blanca White’s: The beautiful sunsets almost every day out of the year, especially when the weather is amazing.
What do you do when you are not bartending: I am an entertainer/performer.
What is your favorite part about working at Blanca White’s: It feels good to be a part of Blanca White’s philosophy.
What should you leave at home when you go to the bar: Your partner if you are working! Drama if you are going out. Bartenders are not the best counselors.

After summer, bartenders featured in the Beach Bar Beat will be rounded up to compete to be this year’s champion. To participate, you can vote for your favorite in the second annual South Padre Parade’s Beach Bartender Competition.
Feel free to join me for a drink when you see me working the Beach Bar Beat. It is a tough job, but someone has to do it.
