Trails at Laguna Vista to celebrate opening

Special to the Parade

A ribbon cutting ceremony will mark the official opening of Trails at Laguna Vista on Saturday.

Scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. on April 20, officials encourage the public to attend and learn about native plants, birds, butterflies and other animals as you walk through “a secret garden” in the heart of Laguna Vista.

The event is open to the public; light refreshments will be available.

To reach the trails from Texas Highway 100, directions provided by event organizers instruct drivers to turn left onto Broadway at Library and left again onto Palo Blanco; the park is at the end.

Laguna Vista residents are also encouraged to ride their bike or walk using either the Palo Blanco or Palm Street entrance.
