PIISD Autism Awareness Walk nears

The Point Isabel Independent School District will be sponsoring the Autism Awareness Walk and Fun Run on Sunday, April 27, at 8 a.m.

April is National Autism Awareness Month. The district hopes to raise awareness about Autism, the fastest growing developmental disorder in the United States.

The walk of 2.2 miles and 5k fun run will begin at Port Isabel High School and go to the gazebo at Beulah Lee Park.

Registration for the event is available on-site at Port Isabel High School April 24 and 26 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. or registration forms can be picked up and dropped off at any PIISD campus. The event is free and registered participants are qualified for door prizes. For more information, call (956) 943-0018.
