Port Isabel to celebrate Earth, Arbor Day

Port Isabel will be going green on Saturday, April 27.

That’s when Mayor Joe E. Vega and the Port Isabel City Commission will host the Fifth Annual Earth and Arbor Day Celebration. Scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Beulah Lee Park in Port Isabel on Texas Highway 100, the event is free to the public and will feature “hands-on activities.”

Festivities will include a raffle for 100 oak trees and door prizes. Free hotdogs and drinks will also be provided at the celebration.

The event is sponsored by the City of Port Isabel, the Port Isabel Economic Development Corporation, the Port Isabel Beautification Committee, HEB and Blue Marlin.
