Dorothy DeFrates Densch, 86, of Port Isabel, TX, formerly of Aurora and Montgomery, died peacefully on May 4, 2013. She was born on October 19, 1926.
She is survived by her children, Dick (Jane) Densch and Nancy DeFrates-Densch (Greg Giese), grandchildren, Andy and Alex Densch-Giese and Cyndee (Jim) Foster, great-granddaughter, Hanna Foster, and her long-time companion, George Ackley. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Robert, her daughters, Janet and Cindy, her parents, and siblings.
Dorothy graduated from Copley Nursing School in 1948 and worked as a nurse for most of her life, serving Copley Memorial Hospital, Drs. Gillette and Starshack, and, most recently, Mooseheart Child City. She was a member of Eastern Star and PEO, Chapter DD. She loved to read and play bridge.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mooseheart Child City (Moosecharities.org).
