Special to the Parade
The schedule for the 2013 Summer Sand Castles Contests has been released with the following locations hosting contests: Boomerang Billy’s (July 7), La Quinta Inn and Suites (July 23), The Pearl South Padre (July 28), La Copa Inn (Aug. 3), Hilton Garden Inn (Aug. 10), Isla Grand Resort (Aug.17), and Clayton’s Beach Bar and Grill (Aug. 24).
Master sculptors will hold demonstrations from 9 to 11 a.m. on each of the days listed above. The master sculptors will then lead informative workshops from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The official competition will run from 1 to 3 p.m.
The Grand Championship will be held on Aug. 24 at Clayton’s Beach Bar and Grill.
