Council OK’s bond issue for Convention Centre

The South Padre Island City Council on Wednesday approved issuing a 30-year bond, at $2.3 million per year, to finance the long-discussed renovation and expansion of the South Padre Island Convention Centre.
The City is ready to enter into the design and development phase as it has already received schematic deliverables, code analysis, structural designs, 3-D models and master documents.
