The Texas A&M Maritime Academy training ship, General Rudder, made landfall Wednesday at the SubSea7 facility in Port Isabel.
The cadets on board have been training for either their unlimited third engineering or third mate licenses. Upon graduating from the Academy in Galveston, the cadets will enter various maritime industries like deep sea oil drilling or they may become involved in collaborative research programs and environmental sciences.
