Palmira M. Gonzalez

Palmira Gonzalez recent pic pcPalmira M. Gonzalez, 63, of Port Isabel/ Harlingen, Texas, entered into eternal rest on January 31, 2014.
Palmira was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel and member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Maria Inez Villarreal Martinez; brother, Guadalupe Martinez III; and sister, Virginia M. Mata.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 44 years, Silvestre C. Gonzalez, Jr.; one daughter, Mari Celeste Gonzalez; four sons: Francisco Javier Gonzalez, Silvestre Gonzalez III, Eric Gonzalez, and Jamie Gonzalez; seven sisters: Rosa Holland, Lucila Martinez, Adriana Franks, Patricia Salazar, Melissa Martinez, Michelle Stetar, and Sandra Martinez; four brothers: Arnoldo Martinez, Javier Martinez, Elias Martinez, and Mares Martinez. Also surviving her are eight grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 3, 2014 from 12 noon to 4 pm at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Visitation continued from 6 pm to 9 pm, with a holy rosary at 7 pm, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St. in Port Isabel.
Mass of resurrection was held at 10 am on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Interment followed at Port Isabel City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers : Francisco Javier Gonzalez, Silvestre Gonzalez III, Eric Gonzalez, Jamie Gonzalez, Arnoldo Martinez, Javier Martinez, Elias Martinez, Mares Martinez, and Guadalupe Torres, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Palmira to: Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St., Port Isabel, Texas 78578.
