It was at approximately 1:50 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, when officers with the Port Isabel Police Department responded to a call about shots being fired at Doubleday Sports Bar & Grill. The suspect believed responsible, however, reportedly fled the scene upon the officers’ arrival.

Police have since identified Armando Guzman as the suspect who allegedly fired his weapon into the air at the sports bar. An arrest warrant has been issued for the unlawful carrying of a weapon, a third degree felony, and deadly conduct, a class A misdemeanor.
