Gloria G. Villarreal, 87, of McAllen/Port Isabel, Texas, entered into eternal rest on September 26, 2014.
She was born in Port Isabel. TX and was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel, TX and Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in McAllen, TX. She served as an Alter Society, Club Guadalupanas & Church Choir member in Port Isabel, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rogerio Villarreal, son, San Juan Villarreal, parents, Celestino and Manuela Ochoa Garza; five sisters: Esperanza Galvan, Estefana De La Fuente, Ninfa Vasquez, Maria Holland, Ofelia Delgado; four brothers: Juan Martinez, Celestino Garza, Arturo Garza, and Ramon Garza; and one grandson, Michael-Jon (Erika) Helms.
Surviving her are his seven children: Roger (Carmen) Villarreal, Larry (Deanna) Villarreal, Dora (Joe) Brown, Diana (Sergio) Helms, Anna Laura (Baldemar) Martinez, Roberto Villarreal, and Sergio (Leslie) Villarreal; 12 grandchildren: Michelle Villarreal, Kathryn Ward, Candace Enriquez, Deena Rodriguez, Major, Sabrina Villarreal, USMC, Joy Villarreal, Jamie-Lynne Brown, Jennifer McLaughlin, Gabriel Villarreal, Victoria Villarreal, Lorenzo Villarreal and Sergio Villarreal; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September29, 2014 from 5:30 p.m.to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1108 W. Hackberry, in McAllen, Texas.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. On Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St. In Port Isabel, Texas. Interment will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery in Port Isabel.
Serving as pallbearers: Jason Rodriguez, Ken Ward, Jesse Delgado, Joel Ochoa, Arnold Martinez, Ruben Villarreal, Pat Marchan, and Jose Eliseo Vega.
Honorary pallbearers are: Joe Brown, Sergio Helms, Baldemar Martinez, Jaime Salazar, Joe Villarreal, Alfredo Delgado, Steven Garza and Tim Smith, Channel 5.
