Island City Council special meeting heats up

gavel (640 px)Tensions ran high last Thursday morning at the special meeting for the South Padre Island City Council. The meeting was called to discuss over $6 million of funding for upcoming projects and contracts.

Mayor Bob Pinkerton called the meeting to order, and citizens were given the opportunity to open by sharing concerns with the council. Multiple citizens stood up to voice complaints about the fact that the packet of public information for this meeting, which gives details about agenda items, was not available until late in the afternoon on Wednesday. Both citizens and council members did not have the time to fully review the details of agenda items.
