Police who were searching for a 20-year-old Killeen man who went missing after attending a concert at Schlitterbahn on South Padre Island have completed their search. The body of Jordan Britten was discovered Thursday morning partially submerged in water in the sandy, marshy area between the water resort and the Chapel by the Sea. At approximately 10:09 a.m. one of the search dogs alerted its handler as they were combing the area.
“In our efforts today we started an operation this morning where we were using the border security and protection… to try and run some search pattern in and around the Schlitterbahn event area,” said to Chief Randy Smith at a press conference Thursday afternoon. “We’ve had detectives go in and conduct their collection of evidence and observe the area and take photos, etcetera, and they brought the deceased out.”
The man’s vehicle, a silver 2008 Mazda, was found abandoned near Schlitterbahn on March 24 with a variety of narcotics and pills that are believed to be ecstasy and molly, said the Chief.
