Despite the damp weather, Surfrider Foundation hosted their Spring GLO Adopt-a-Beach Clean-up at Isla Blanca Park and residents of all ages came out to help keep their beach clean and beautiful. This is 10th year the South Texas Chapter has put on the volunteer driven event.
“What we do is just come out here and supply the gloves and the trash bags and hope that we have a lot of volunteers come to help clean up,” said Leah Thrash, Surfrider Foundation Volunteer Coordinator. “We’ve seen a big difference from when we started to now. And hopefully that’s a little bit of public awareness and not throwing as much trash as they once did. But I think we do make a difference.”
