Loose Dogs & Clarity
I agree with the sentiments of many of those individuals who wrote to PI paper and spoke of what a community is….and how citizens have responsibilities and should value their community. I think this individual has it absolutely right.
Everyone does have an important responsibility to maintain their property, their behavior, and their animals. My dog has not been loose in this community, and I have had dogs in LV for over 21 years. A dog walking in one’s own yard without a leash is in compliance. I sincerely believe the police in Laguna Vista are increasingly trying their best to address this problem, but it is enforcement of the ordinance where the leadership of a community need to take it seriously.
After reviewing many of my city complaints, nearly all of my loose dog complaints were dismissed or not on record, even when the dog was repeatedly loose.
It is my sincere hope that everyone provides suggestions, input and demonstrates concern for this ongoing problem. It should not just be the walkers, runners, or those who are physically active that are voicing their concern.
