Significant Drop in Reportable Crimes in Laguna Vista

The Town of Laguna Vista is proud to announce that the reportable property crimes when compared from last year to this year have dropped 95%.   There were 21 reported burglaries in Laguna Vista last year.  This year, there were only two and both offenses have been cleared by arrests.

Kudos to Police Chief Tony David and the police officers of the Laguna Vista Police Department.

Ebony Lane street improvements

The Town is proud to announce that the reconstruction of Ebony Lane from Hibiscus to FM 510 will be commencing on Monday, August 3.

We are asking residents that live on Ebony Lane to be patient while the street improvements are being done to this street. There will be access at all times for police and fire units and for residents to drive in and out of this street.  The project should be completed in 30 days.

Local Warrant Round Up Initiated

The Town of Laguna Vista is initiating its own local warrant round up during the months of August and September.

The Town of Laguna Vista Municipal Court has hundreds of active warrants it is seeking to clear.  Municipal Court officials are encouraging defendants to take advantage of the options being available to settle outstanding warrants immediately.  No amnesty is being offered in conjunction with this local warrant round up.

Once the arrest period begins August 1, 2015, Laguna Vista officers will aggressively target persons on the warrant list and arrests can take place at any location, including the defendant’s home, school or workplace.  Notices are being mailed out by Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP, the Town’s delinquent attorneys, at the end of the month of July to all defendants with active warrants.  If a defendant receives a local warrant round up letter, they can either call 1-877-234-9790 or they can drop by the Town of Laguna Vista, 122 Fernandez, Laguna Vista, TX to pay it.  Alternatively, fines may also be paid by mail with a money order or cashier’s check.
