Laguna Vista To Initiate Local Warrant Roundup

Special to the PRESS

The Town of Laguna Vista is initiating its own local warrant round up during the months of August and September.

The Town of Laguna Vista Municipal Court has hundreds of active warrants it is seeking to clear.  Municipal Court officials are encouraging defendants to take advantage of the options being available to settle outstanding warrants immediately.  No amnesty is being offered in conjunction with this local warrant round up.

Once the arrest period begins on August 1 Laguna Vista officers will aggressively target persons on the warrant list and arrests can take place at any location, including the defendant’s home, school or workplace.

Says Laguna Vista City Manager Rolando Vela, “We are initiating this local warrant because we also owe it to the law-abiding citizens who are expecting us to do what is right and are holding us accountable.  It’s important that if you have an active warrant to call our office and take care of it.”

Notices are being mailed out by Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP, the Town’s delinquent attorneys, at the end of the month of July to all defendants with active warrants.

If a defendant receives a local warrant round up letter, they can either call 1-877-234-9790 or they can drop by the Town of Laguna Vista, 122 Fernandez St. in Laguna Vista to pay it.  Alternatively, fines may also be paid by mail with a money order or cashier’s check.
