Noemi Etterman, 33, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 26th at her home in Port Isabel, Texas.

Noemi was born on January 3, 1982 to Leonardo and Angelina (Saldana) Martinez in Mexico.

Noemi married Thomas P. Etterman on July 6, 2002 in San Carlos, Coahuila Mexico. They were married for thirteen years prior to her passing.

Noemi served God and that was her main purpose in this life so that one day she would make it to Heaven.  God came first, then her husband, children, and family, both her natural and Church families.  She was an inspiration to all who came in contact with her. Her main interest in life was serving God wherever she was. She enjoyed traveling to the Churches for revivals. She was also able to travel from the east coast to the west coast throughout the country.

This summer she traveled to Oregon and Salmon Arm British Columbia. She loved seeing the different mountains God has created and all his beauty in different places.

When Noemi could no longer come to Church the Church came to her.  She praised God and still helped people pray for their salvation.  She never quit doing her job for Jesus until she had her last breath.

Noemi is survived by her husband: Thomas P. Etterman; children: Peter (12) and Annie (9); parents: Leonardo and Angelina Martinez and James and Karen Etterman; brothers: Euvodio and Gerardo (Irene) Martinez of San Carlos, Mexico; sisters: Maricruz Martinez, San Carlos, Mexico, Maribel Martinez and Esther (Tito) Martinez of Del Rio, Texas; Jim (Stephanie) Etterman of Brainerd, Minnesota; fifteen nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 5th at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of God of the Firstborn in Newton, Kansas. A public visitation is scheduled from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Church of God of the Firstborn.  The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. during the visitation. A graveside committal will follow the service at the Church of God of the Firstborn Cemetery.

A memorial has been set up for the Church of God of the First Born in Newton, Kansas.

Noemi struggled with cancer for almost four years until the time of her death.  Her life touched many people and she will be remembered for her love of Christ and her family.  The family is deeply saddened with her passing but they will have many enduring memories of their time with her.
