Officials recovered the body of a Hispanic man seen in the waters of the Laguna Madre approximately six miles north of the South Padre Island Convention Centre Sunday.
“One of the fishing boats from Port Isabel … he spotted the body,” Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio said. “He said the body was about six and a half miles north of the Convention Centre and a mile from the shoreline,” Lucio said. Cameron County Sheriff’s deputies, along with the South Padre Island Police Department, recovered the body.
