Twenty eight donors stepped up to contribute more than 30 units of blood at Sunday’s blood drive at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel.
The Knights of Columbus Council 4779 at OLSS Parish organized the effort to help others in need of blood, according to spokesman for the organization, Bernie Stein. The American Red Cross says one blood donation can help three hospitalized patients.
