Primary Election Day is Tuesday and voters will have ample time to make it to the polls.
Voting booths will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all polling places in the Laguna Madre region. However, for residents within Precincts 1 and 83, which applies to Port Isabel, things will be a little bit different this year. Republican voters are being asked to cast their ballots at Port Isabel City Hall while Democratic voters cast theirs at the Bennie Ochoa county annex building. Residents of Laguna Vista and South Padre Island can still cast their ballots at their respective city hall buildings.
In regards to the upcoming local May elections, the filing deadlines for both the City of Port Isabel and the Point Isabel Independent School District (PIISD) closed Friday.
