BND to create wildlife corridor

Special to the PRESS

The Port of Brownsville and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife service are working to preserve and align an existing wildlife corridor at the Port with a new corridor according to a plan unveiled this week by the Brownsville Navigation District.

“We are excited by the interest and support offered by the Port of Brownsville in working with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to help preserve, protect and enhance area habitats for wildlife,” said Bryan Winton, refuge manager for the Lower Rio Grande Valley National Wildlife Refuge. “Our success in the Boca Chica area is strongly tied to continued cooperation between our organizations.”
