Residents of Laguna Heights are invited to Bejarano Park this weekend to learn about a crime watch program being sponsored by the Cameron County Constable’s Pct. 1 office.
Constable Pete Delgadillo has partnered with local police chaplain George Patterson to raise awareness about the program, which aims to decrease crime by encouraging residents to reach out to police if they see suspicious activity.
“If you see something, say something,” Patterson said Monday.
Patterson and Delgadillo will be at the park beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday hoping to enlist at the help of 17 people as “block captains.” That number represents the number of streets in Laguna Heights.
